Institute – Tentative Agenda – June 13-14, 2013 Northern Utah
 
 
Each Student receives Ohio Swine Project Book, Quick Facts Book and itinerary when chosen. When chosen each attendee will confirm registration with payment of $25.00 and also sign a conduct form and parent permission form. The conduct form and parent permission slip must also be returned to UPPA prior to Youth Pork Institute.

Day 1

8:00 am Meet in Tremonton at Arena at Fairgrounds

8:15 – 8:35 We Care session – taught by Allison Fiscus assisted by Youth Pork Ambassadors

8:40 -9:15 Farm Safety taught by Mike Pace, Extension Agent

9:30 Bus to Logan USU

10:00 Tour College Livestock Ag Center

12:00 Tour Todd’s Farm (Independent large hog producer) Feed Mill, Methane gas production, barns

Lunch Easy pork BBQ at Todd’s house

1:30 Bus to Wheatland Seed – Mill

2:00 Tour Wheatland Seed – Mill

3:15 Tour Trudy’s Farm – Dry Farming and small family hog farm

4:15 Tour Hay Farm close by – Irrigation Farming

6:00 Dinner at Snowville Park – Provided by local BBQ house – Pork BBQ

Band during dinner?

7:00 – 8:30 team building games – Dinah Peebles, NPB

8:30 Bus back to Tremonton to Hotel – Continental Breakfast at Hotel (getting information from Trudy) Don’t know if there will be a pool or not

9:00 Check in to Hotel

Day 2

8:00 Meet at Tremonton Arena Youth PQA Plus Training – Dinah Peebles, NPB

9:00 Record Books taught by Emily from Extension office

9:30 – 11:30 Pig Bowl

11:45 – 1:00 Cold Cut Sandwiches, chips cookies and Bingo

1:15 Bus to Ogden – Old McDonalds Processing

2:00 Tour Old McDonald’s

3:00 Any students who want to picked up in Ogden that live in that area can be picked up, otherwise the bus will return to Tremonton and drop the rest of the kids off.
