Utah Pork Producers Association has 3 Youth Pork Ambassadors that are currently assisting in events that are held throughout the state. Emmy Arnold, Hanna Christensen and David Gross. Some of the other events that the ambassadors will be assisting at will be Youth Pork Institute, Pig and Pork Day at Thanksgiving Point, The Hunstman 140, The Utah State Fair and many other events throughout the hear. My name is Emmy Arnold and I am 18 years old. I am currently enrolled at Utah State University in Logan Utah and I am majoring in Agriculture Education. When I graduate, I hope to become an Ag. Teacher, as well as continue the family farm. I have lived on a Pig farm my whole life! I always loved (and still love) helping my dad and grandpa out on the family farm. When I was eight years old, I started showing pigs with the 4-H program and fell in love! When I started High school I became involved in the FFA program, where I was the Historian my Junior year and the President my Senior year.
My name is Hanna Christensen. I live in Hurricane Utah; I am a senior at Hurricane High. I am 18 years old. I have raise pork, participated in the local rodeos and parades. I have helped run a booth at the local fair for the pork producers. After High School I plan to go to Dixie State College. One of my goals is to have a summer equestrian camp for disabled children.
My name is David Gross. I currently live in Davis Country. I am 22 years old and I have been involved in agriculture most of my life. I have shown in both the 4-H and FFA organizations. This experience has taught me great life skills to make me who I am today. I have raised and shown almost every farm animal throughout my experience. My projects have included, Registered Black Angus, sheep, goats, turkeys, chickens and most importantly hogs. I am currently attending Weber State University and will be transferring to Utah State University to continue my studies towards a degree in Animal Science.
